We are very excited to announce that The Oyster Girls, a Tomales Bay-based traveling oyster bar, will be opening The Shuckery at Hotel Petaluma this summer! The Shuckery, a 54-seat oyster bar and restaurant, will feature oysters and seafood from coast to coast. It will also feature local produce and wines. Some of the local purveyors include: Tomales Bay Oyster Company in Tomales Bay, Lavender Hill Honey in Petaluma, First Light Farm in Petaluma, Singing Frogs Farm in Sebastapol and TwoXSea in San Francisco.
The new 1500-square-foot oyster bar and restaurant will be located on the first floor of Hotel Petaluma, at the intersections of Kentucky and Washington Streets. Guests can expect customer-centric service, a characteristic of the Oyster Girls run by sisters Aluxa and Jazmine Lalicker. They can also look forward to a swift shucking lessons and a menu inspired by local fare from Chef Seth Harvey. Chef Harvey, inspired by the seasonal farm-to-table movement which propelled him to move to Sonoma County, has naturally embraced the lighter style of California cuisine. Classically trained, he will showcase the natural flavors of the food enhanced with balanced seasoning.
The space for the new restaurant is currently being renovated, and the new interior design is being inspired by the natural beauty and love the Oyster Girls have of the ocean. The first seafood restaurant in downtown Petaluma, it will be an attraction for Hotel Petaluma guests and locals alike.
“For the interior, we wanted to design an organic and elegant atmosphere reminiscent of the locale of the items that we serve. We want our customers to step into an inviting space where they can be both relaxed and entertained in their free time,” shares Jazmine Lalicker.
